Jes and Nelson’s Audley Dance Hall wedding was set against a warm and clear autumn day, with all their closest friends and family. Perfecto! *chefs kiss*
]They didn’t plan it like this though.
Their ACTUAL plan was to marry in Sydney in 2020 and a few days later celebrate in Michigan with Jes’ American family and friends. Unfortunately, because of the *ahem* state of the world right now…..their plans didin’t go to plan! Instead, they had a private elopement in September last year and after pushing the date back several times, they finally had their Sydney celebration in May. I’m crossing my fingers they’ll be able to have their Michigan one soon!
Although it wasn’t the OG plan, it didn’t dampen the love that was shared between them or their guests.
The tables were decorated with dried natives and greenery by Bess Paddington and retro style glasses that doubled as wedding favours at the end of the day. The bride also baked special cookies to honour the couples dog, Zelda.
Guests dined on a multi course meal created by the Audley Dance Hall Cafe (while I had a seperate roast cauliflower with hummus and dukkah – yum!) and watched the couple taste a stunning, rustic strawberry layered cake. The bride wore a stunning second hand dress from Boom Blush (bought off Still White).
After the reception wound down, the party carried on with a small group of close friends at Simpson Cottage, Bundeena where the couple also stayed for their accomodation.
Portraits were a big thing for these two so we spent plenty of time taking beautiful couple portraits in various locations. I personally loved the beach of Simpson Bay – the sky was beautiful and clear and the sun shone so brightly – it matched the vibe of the day perfectly.
I absolutely loved photographing Jes and Nelson’s special celebration and can’t wait to join them in Michigan whenever the international borders open up again! (fingers crossed it’s sooooon!). In the meantime, check out all the images from the day (especially peep the brides super fun rainbow jacket in one of the last ones!).
