Sydney is the harbour city of Australia with sparkling blue waters and beautiful weather almost year-round. So it’s no wonder that this beautiful city is host to dozens of waterfront wedding venues for every water-loving couple. From harbour-side to beach-side to lake-side, there’s a waterfront view for everyone on this list featuring some of my favourite places to photograph and some of Sydney’s most iconic waterfront wedding venues.

The Deckhouse, Woolwich

Combining green parkland areas with uninterrupted Sydney Harbour views, Deckhouse is that perfect mix of greenery and waterfront. The venue itself features glass sides, outdoor terrace, deck and private bar allowing events of all sizes to be easily accommodated for.

Zest Waterfront Venue, The Spit

Zest is one of the ultimate foodie venues in Sydney. Offering a wide variety of catering options created by Executive Chef, to ensure your event stands out from the rest.

Not only that, but the in-house styling team will work with you to create an atmosphere that will make your wedding dreams come to life.

The Spit caters canapé receptions for up to 450 people so you can guarantee that everyone will be able to fit in!

Burnt Orange, Mosman

Nestled in the trees of Middle Head, Mosman, Burnt Orange is a beautiful historical mansion with sweeping views over Middle Head and Chowder Bay and just 20 minutes from Sydney CBD . Offering two spaces (or the whole venue for hire), and an option for customisable catering.

Gunners Barracks

Another classic Mosman venue, Gunners Barracks is a historical venue constructed in 1873 as a barracks to protect Sydney Harbour from attack.

Not only is it a beautiful venue with some of the best harbour views of any venue in Sydney, Gunners Barracks is also one of the few venues that will allow for the open flames in hindu weddings.

Gunners Barracks allows outside catering or is able to cater with their in-house catering team.

Sergeants Mess

Also overlooking Chowder Bay, Sergeants’ Mess is another historical venue nestled in the bushland of Mosman. Built in 1963, it may not be as ‘vintage’ as other Mosman venues but it’s more modern interior gives a classic, upscale vibe that will no doubt wow your guests. Add in views of Chowder Bay, Watsons Bay and Sydney Harbour, Sergeants Mess is a premier Sydney venue.

Quay Restaurant

You can’t get much closer to the harbour waterfront than iconic Sydney restaurant, Quay. Welcoming both small and large weddings Quay boasts panoramic views of the harbour including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House with outdoor balconies allowing your guests unobstructed views of the iconic Sydney City skyline.

Two reception spaces allow for receptions with as little as 20 guests all the way up to 100 seated guests.

Zimzala Resturaunt, Cronulla Beach

Literally on the steps of South Cronulla Beach with panoramic views of the ocean, Zimzala has dubbed itself a “hub for foodies, people watching, ocean gazing and memory-making”. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the seasonal menu features fresh, local produce with plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options available.

Beachside Dojo, Manly

Manly beach is one of my absolute favourite beaches in Sydney making Beachside Dojo possibly my favourite waterfront wedding venue in Sydney. The vibe is ‘effortless Hamptons’, with sweeping ocean views as its backdrop.

Even better is they have an affirmation and inclusivity statement on their website so you know you’ll be able to enjoy your day to the fullest.

Watsons Bay Hotel

On the foreshore of Watsons Bay, Watsons Bay Hotel has everything you need for an all-in-one wedding experience. On-site accomodation, multiple ceremony locations and a choice of The Top Deck (featuring sweeping views of the harbour) or the Sunset Room kitted out with its own private bar for up to 350 people cocktail (150 seated).

Dunbar House

Built in the 1830s Dunbar House in on the Austria’s oldest standing structures and sits on the shore of Sydney Harbour surrounded by Robertson Park. A popular choice for ceremonies is under the giant fig tree right out the front between the venues steps and the shore of Watsons Bay.

Receptions are up to 120 guests with the venue only being exclusive for dinner service.

Ovolo, Woolloomooloo

Surrounded by stunning water views (obviously otherwise why would it make the list??) and the beautiful Sydney City skyline, Ovolo is one of the best venues out there.

With several spaces available, Ovolo will have the perfect setting for your unique wedding not to mention the countless number of nooks and crannies in and around the venue for some unique wedding day portraits!

Bennelong Restaurant (aka The Opera House)

Why choose someplace that only has a view of the opera house when you can literally be INSIDE the Opera House? Big sister venue to Quay Restaurant; Bennelong Restaurant is the creme-de-la-creme of waterfront venues with the whole damn harbour at your feet and the Sydney City skyline lighting up just for you. Your wedding would be *iconic*
