McKell Park at Darling Point wasn’t the first choice for Georgia and James’ wedding ceremony. In fact, it wasn’t even on their radar when they started planning their day. But thanks to an outbreak of *cough* corona *cough* and subsequent lockdown of the Northern Beaches FIVE DAYS before their wedding, Georgia and James needed choose a backup location AND another photographer.

They managed to book McKell Park with only a couple of days to spare AND a beautiful open plan house in Bondi to stay at where they set up their backyard reception. Luckily, I was able to step in and I’m so grateful that I was! Even with all the last minute changes, Georgia and James put on a beautiful event and made it seem like it was always a part of the plan.

They rented a beautiful Air BnB open plan house in Bondi; and with some careful manoeuvring, they both managed to get ready without seeing each other before their ceremony.

James’ grandmother helped him with the smaller touches, by putting his bow-tie on and helping dust off his jacket. Georgia, was helped into her dress by her parents who carefully zipped her dress over her teeny tiny baby bump!

The ceremony was set against the backdrop of the harbour ocean with slight views of the harbour bridge (who doesn’t love a good bridge backdrop??). Georgia became emotional when her dad gave her away to James which was such a beautiful, sweet moment and really shows the closeness they share. I love watching people feel big emotions – it almost brought me to tears myself.

And if that wasn’t enough, the couple also announced the coming arrival of their first bebe (the bride was pregnant!!). Cue double congratulations.

After the ceremony guests had departed, a handful of special people were invited to their intimate reception at a Bondi Junction Air BNB. The event was catered by Bespoke Catering who prepped the guests food right in the Air BnB kitchen in the open plan space. The decor and floral designs were by a close friend of the brides with flowers bought from the flower markets that morning (rule of life : find good friends that will buy you flowers at 4am on your wedding day). Georgia wore a beautiful gown from Emerald Bridal that fit her just there baby bump perfectly while James opted for a suave charcoal suit from Belance.

The couple finished off their time with me by having their first dance while their guests showered them with rose petal confetti. Such a beautiful celebration for a beautiful couple.
